从96开始，游戏中便加入了特殊开场的设定，当特定对手相遇时，角色会作出特殊的动作，例如96中的京与庵这对宿敌，RALF和CLARK这对战友，还有TERRY和GEESE等。之后的作品中，这类特殊开场越来越多，比如后期的作品中，红丸看到女性角色时都会有特别的开场动作，而胜利时甚至还会对女性对手道歉（爱在“五十岁以下的女性”面前出风头的家伙……）。&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
有些特殊开场是单向的，比如98中草薙柴舟对着他儿子草薙京说了半天，但却被京“无视”了……&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

附带一提，02UM中，京和庵碰面时会出现3种开场，条件分别是，两人同时登场，京登场以及庵登场。&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

==关于GEESE，KRAUSER和MR.BIG==&lt;br /&gt;
SNK早期格斗作品中的三位BOSS角色，于 96中组成BOSS队参赛，这三人怀着各自的野心相互利用，但在KOF的主线作品中，三人也仅仅只合作过一次。下面来简单的介绍一下三人。&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
GEESE HOWARD&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
来自“饿狼”的GEESE是最先出场的BOSS，其 人气之高毋庸置疑。无论是《龍虎之拳2》中乱入的年轻版GEESE，还是后期的NIGHTMARE GEESE，其实力都是机其强悍的！&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
关于他的不下，有忠心耿耿的BILLY，以及剧情中多次出现的RIPPER和HOPPER。&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
附带一提，传闻在《饿狼传说》的结局中坠楼的他其实并没有死，在落地前他利用“疾风拳”安全着陆，但究竟如何谁也说不清楚……&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

WOLFGANG KRAUSER&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
GEESE的异母兄弟，身着铠甲的斗士，《饿狼传说2》的最终BOSS。虽然其“KAISER WAVE”被RUGAL习得（RUGAL还学到了GEESE的“烈风拳”），但其实力亦不可小视（“饿狼”系列中相当强悍）。附带一提，许多玩家都看不惯他在KOF中的造型，肌肉型男弄得跟吸毒犯似的……&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
MR.BIG&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
来自“龍虎”系列的BOSS，在《龍虎之拳》中绑架了YURI的家伙。作为黑社会老大，在96中，跟随他出场的是两位美女。KOF96使得他的人气提升，这是当初并未预料 到的，大概是因为那两位美女的关系……&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
